Global Logistics & Supply Chain Strategies Magazine Selects Smart Software for Customer-Nominated Recognition
Belmont, Mass., August 12, 2008 - Smart Software,
Inc., provider of industry-leading demand forecasting, planning, and inventory
optimization solutions, today announced that Global Logistics & Supply
Chain Strategies (GL&SCS) has chosen the company for its list of
"100 Great Supply Chain Partners" for the third year in a row. Smart was
nominated for this distinction by several of its customers in manufacturing,
distribution, and service parts organizations that are using its flagship
product, SmartForecasts® Enterprise, to solve their demand
forecasting and inventory planning problems. The award focused on Smart
Software's strengths in helping its customers improve their overall supply chain
performance.
Smart Software was chosen from more than 280 vendors for the 2008 list of 100
Great Supply Chain Partners published in the July issue of GL&SCS
magazine. In a six-month poll, the publication received
more than 1500 nominations from manufacturers and retailers covering scores of
different industries around the world.
According to GL&SCS,
"[This award] is all about the importance of well-established
relationships between vendors and their manufacturing and retailing
customers. These manufacturers and retailers know that they are
competing in a demanding global marketplace. They can only succeed with
the help of partners that possess the skills and services they need to connect
and empower every participant in the supply chain wherever they may be."
As in previous years, the magazine's nominating process revealed those
qualities that nominating companies most looked for in their vendors. This
year, they included the following 10 qualities: 1. Reliability, 2. Repeatable
excellence, 3. Value and cost savings, 4. Expertise and knowledge base, 5.
Problem-solving ability, 6. Continuous improvement, 7. Support, 8. Positive
culture, 9. Global capabilities, and 10. Strong management.
"I'd like to thank our customers for nominating us and want to recognize them
for the success they've had using our products to improve their demand and
inventory planning" said Charles Smart, president and CEO of Smart
